Running for Weight Loss
January is upon us and it's time to start making those wonderful resolutions for the new year. Now that I am in my 40's I finally understand why 40 somethings always complained about losing weight. Some days I just can't believe I have actually reached this level of weight gain. The good news, is I have continued to try different workouts such as Lagree Pilates and Beach Body videos so I don't feel completely hopeless.
I recently decided to join a friend for a St Patty's day 7k and I am determined to whip myself into shape with running and proper diet. I have purchased the app Running for Weight Loss by Red Rocks Apps and I have just completed day 2 of the Get Running Training program.
This program is a 4 week training program complete with music playlists and a virtual coach in your headphones. Personally I find this to be a great way to get started. The first 2 runs consisted of intervals between walking and running for an approximate 30 minute period. I am going to try the first few weeks on a treadmill and then move to a 2nd program on the app running outdoors. I have about 20 lbs I would like to drop and I hope this gives me a good start along with yoga on rest days.
To give myself some accountability I've decided to post a blog with my progress and hopefully this will encourage others to get up and get moving. I am not affiliated with this app just trying to find a little guidance to get started on my own.
This blog is open to anyone who is interested in becoming healthier or who might have some advice along the way.
Hope you enjoy and Happy Running!
Deeva!
